RFI Engineering Appoints Two New Directors

RFI Engineering, a leading manufacturer of smart data
solutions for the M2M market, today announced that Frank
Koopman, Chairman and CEO of Gatix, and Jacques Kemp, former
CEO Insurance Asia/Pacific of ING, have been appointed on
RFI Engineering’s board of directors.
The new board of directors intends to work closely with the
current management team to build on the accomplishments that
have been achieved during the past 2 years and to help RFI
Engineering strengthen its position.

In addition to his new strategic role at RFI Engineering, Frank
also holds the position of Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Gatix (4G gateway servers) and Chairman of the
Board of Octo-Wireless (wireless networking equipment). He
was Chief Executive Officer of Hopling Technologies and
Hopling Networks from 2003 through Augustus 2009, Chief
Executive Officer of UMX Technologies from 2002 through July
2004 and Managing Director of Global Crossing from 1999
through March 2002. Earlier in his career, he worked for
several years in various senior executive management
positions at Vicorp and Datapoint Corporation. In addition
he served as a member of the European board and Vice
President sales & marketing for Vicorp Europe.
Jacques was up to recently Vice Chairman of ING Asia/Pacific
for Insurance & Investments. From 2002-2008 he was CEO of
ING Asia/Pacific Insurance based in Hong Kong. From 1999 to
2001 he was Global Head of E-Business, and responsible for
ING’s strategy on web-based financial services worldwide.
After the purchase of Barings Bank in 1995, Jacques Kemp
became a member of the Executive Committee of ING Barings.
In the late 1990s, Jacques was involved in the start-up of
ING Direct. Under his leadership ING acquired major stakes
in banks like Bank Slaski, Poland, Bank of Beijing, China
and in PayPal, the leading e-payment provider. Presently he
is a non-executive board member of various companies,
including KB Financial Group, Korea. Jacques has started his
own consultancy bureau ToBecome to support the strategy of
multinationals.
