Peter Calis

Peter Calis is the Chief
Executive Officer of RFI Engineering, responsible for the
day-to-day operations of the company with a
strong focus on global sales, including revenue, profit and
customer satisfaction in the countries where RFI Engineering
does business.
Peter is an experienced international senior executive with an
extensive knowledge and understanding of the telecommunication
industry. He has substantial experience in management of high
level professionals. He has a proven ability in defining,
negotiating and implementing complex projects.
He was named to his present position in September 2008
after serving as chief operating officer of Hopling Technologies
since 2006. Prior he was general manager carrier sales in Europe
since April 2004.
Peter joined Hopling Technologies from Global Crossing, where he
was senior vice president network & services and deputy managing
director of Global Crossing Europe for over 4 years. At Global
Crossing, he was responsible for the implementation, design,
engineering and construction of the European fiber network, to
increase revenues and profitability. The 1.8 billion dollar
European network was implemented on schedule and within budget.
He also managed to consistently grow Global Crossing' fiber
business in Europe.
Previously Peter worked for Tele2 as managing director where he
launched the telephone service, as a competitor of KPN, to the
general public in the Netherlands in 1997. Within 2 weeks after
the launch Tele2 had registered more then 10.000 customers.
Earlier in his career, Peter worked for over 20 years mostly in
executive management positions in Philips Business
Communications and Philips Telecommunication Systems. Whilst
with Philips he was resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from
1980 to 1987, for the implementation of the Telephone Expansion
Contracts.
In 2004,
Peter was elected to the board of directors of Bata. He is a
frequent speaker at industry and business conferences around the
world.
Peter is married and has two children. His interests include
tennis and squash. |
